The Christmas Anniversary

I’ll be your sentiment for sure

A piece of my honest “maybe’s”

But not worth waiting

A certain make for sure

Since said first kiss

Came winter’s honorary gift to me

In the hours of waiting

And waking up to the sunshine

Of my life

And refuse to be (refuse to be)

Part of the let down

And insist on me

That the only concerns

We both have to learn

Is that while I know you’re fine

We’re taking it leaps at a time

baby we’re gold

mystery that sold

Still you must stop and hear

To what is terribly old

In how now I know you’re mine

It’s been a year for the first time

Sit back, hold, and wait for me lady

Perhaps, I suppose I want this to be told just right

Are you sure?

I’ve known to be a bit impure

Uncertain and worth all the faking

Yet I’ve found the one

Worth setting straight for sure

Amidst the risk

Of certain couples gone amiss

I’ll hold you close to me waiting

For the hours to fold

Into the life we’ll intertwine

And refuse to be (refuse to be)

Part of the let down

And insist on me

That the only concerns

We both have to learn
